Lenovo ThinkBook 14+ Unboxing

Introduction

This article is an unboxing review of the Thinkbook14+ Ultra7 integrated graphics version.

This version is not as good as the 8845 version, but it has the following advantages:

• Force Touch full-area touchpad (similar to MacBook, but the experience is much worse)
• Equipped with an Oculink interface, which makes it convenient to connect an external graphics card with minimal performance loss

The packaging of this Thinkbook still has some design sense.

Unpacking

Lenovo's package is quite rich in contents.

Besides the charger, manual, and warranty card, it also comes with a Bluetooth mouse that has a very poor tactile feel.

But using it actually feels not great

Laptop Body

The aesthetics of this A-surface are truly impressive!

It has a great sense of quality 👍

B-surface, that mysterious bump slightly undermines the overall elegance.

Also, I have to complain about this Lenovo keyboard protector paper—it's way too thin!

C-surface, I absolutely love the key layout. It feels like the perfect answer for a 14-inch design!

Not too many stickers either, which is great~

D-surface, it's pretty standard.

But who really cares what the D-surface looks like? After all, you normally can't even see it~

Hardware Information

Let's look at the hardware information

This hard drive is the SN740

SSD Hard Drive Information

The power-on time and written data show no abnormalities

SSD Speed Test

Read/write speeds are not bad.

CPU Stress Test

Since this is a model with integrated graphics

Just the CPU stress test is sufficient

After 10 minutes of stress testing, it stabilized at 72W with a temperature of 86°C

During this period, it frequently hit the power wall, leading to thermal throttling

Benchmarking

TimeSpy

Scored 3742 points, significantly higher than Brother Ji's 780M integrated graphics, largely thanks to the high-frequency onboard memory.

However, take the benchmark scores of the Ultra processor's integrated graphics with a grain of salt—actual gaming performance is quite ordinary.

Summary

The build quality really holds up

But I've heard that this year's Thinkbook has even worse workmanship, with all sorts of strange issues

Mine is okay, though there's still a bulge on the palm rest area

And the Ultra processor experience is definitely not as good as AMD's 8845

Hopefully, Intel will give it their all with the next generation.
