HelloGanss-XS75T Keyboard Unboxing

HelloGanss XS75T, screen knob with all the buffs stacked, best value for money? Just look at this design, tsk. Switch travel is short and feels stiff, the mahjong sound is noisy at night, keycap height is off and the rebound feels jarring, ha ha. Detachable battery design, but the battery compartment cover is hard to remove, the toggle switch is a gimmick, a differentiating point? Barely.

Foreword

The previous Valkyrie VK99 indeed looked great, but the travel distance of the switches was just too short—I really wasn't used to it.

So I went ahead and ordered the "HelloGanss XS75T" that I had previously added to my shopping cart.

It has both a screen and an encoder knob, with all the buffs stacked full.

As of writing this article, I've already gotten my hands on several other keyboards. I declare this Ganss model offers the best value for money!

The only downside, emmm, is probably that it's a bit lacking in aesthetics?

Unboxing

The box looks like this, quite minimalist.

Opening

Upon opening, the first thing you see is the keyboard body itself

The white-colored model I chose looks a bit better, the black one seems harder to accept

Switches

The most important switch parameters are here

This keyboard has quite a few options. Based on the recommendation from a "keyboard guru," I chose the monthly pink switches (月季粉轴).

The travel is still relatively short, and the actuation force seems very light, but in use, it feels on the stiffer side.

The sound is a mahjong-like click. It's quite pleasant when typing, but it can be a bit noisy at night.

Overall, it's okay. I'm still not entirely used to switches with such short travel.

I changed the three keys on the right to home / end / delete.

Then I also swapped the keycaps. However, I didn't notice at first that the replacement keycaps had the wrong height, which caused rebound issues. I initially thought the springs in those switches were faulty, only to later realize it was a misunderstanding...

Summary

This keyboard offers excellent value for its price in the same range. At this price point, it's customizable, has a screen, comes with a bunch of keycaps and switches, and features a detachable battery design~

PS: Although the battery compartment cover is quite stiff and hard to remove.

A removable battery means you can take the battery out when using it with the cable plugged in, extending battery lifespan.

Then install the battery when you need to use it wirelessly.

You can also swap between two batteries.

Mechanical keyboards generally have a longer lifespan, and a removable battery can also enhance the keyboard's usability over time.

Oh right, this keyboard also has a five-way navigation joystick, though its function seems a bit impractical—I almost overlooked it. You can configure the joystick's function in the driver software, which is nice and gives it an edge over other keyboards as a unique feature~

Finally, summarizing the cons:

  • The appearance isn't very appealing
  • The switch feel is average (though they're hot-swappable, so you can replace them yourself later)

OK, I'll update with experiences of other keyboards next.
