Preface
At the end of last year, I managed to catch the tail end of the government subsidy and purchased Mechrevo’s Wujie 14x (无界14x). I was immediately impressed by the design of this model (and in fact, this design is still excellent even in 2025).
You can check out the unboxing article I wrote last year: My Favorite Ultrabook Design of 2024: Unboxing the Mechrevo Wujie 14x Blizzard
Weighing 1.46kg, equipped with the 8845 processor that offers the best balance of price and energy efficiency for ultrabooks, a large 80Wh battery, plus dual M.2 slots and dual memory slots for maximum expandability, and a rich array of ports—this is a high-scoring answer sheet for ultrabooks right out of the box~
Although there are many negative reviews about Mechrevo online, I really like this ultrabook. Many commenters under my unboxing article mentioned they had problems (翻车) with theirs. At the time, I didn’t pay much attention, thinking that such issues were just a low-probability event. I didn’t expect that after less than half a year of use, my own Mechrevo 14x also had problems (翻车) 😂
Fortunately, for me, it was just a minor issue, and it has already been sent back to the factory for repair. This article documents the process of replacing the hard drive myself and applying for after-sales service.
Previous Comments
Many netizens have advised against it.
Jige's quality control issues (品控问题) are indeed not an isolated case online (though in this regard, Lenovo's Thinkbook isn't much better either).

Issues with Malfunction
My issue isn't really a major one
It's just that the Tab key on my keyboard has stopped working properly
The symptom is that pressing it once results in multiple inputs, and it just doesn't stop 😂
I usually use an external mechanical keyboard, and rarely use the laptop keyboard itself, but this problem is still quite disruptive to my workflow
Since I recently got a Mac Mini for work (the unboxing post hasn't been published yet), I decided to take advantage of the holiday period to request after-sales service.
PS: The key actually broke within less than half a year, but I hadn't noticed since I was using an external keyboard 😓
Replacing the Hard Drive
Before taking the computer for after-sales repair
First,remove the hard drive
Although I trust the professionalism of the service staff,my current hard drive contains many work files. To be safe,I decided to remove the original hard drive.
Start by removing all the screws on the back.

Then use a plastic spudger to pry open the bottom panel. Since I didn’t have a spudger,I used a stiff cardboard sleeve instead. I even sacrificed the tempered glass protector inside for it😂
You can see that the internal structure of the Ji Ge 14x looks quite decent.

Before proceeding to the next step, remember to disconnect the battery and press the power button once to discharge the motherboard—it’s safer.

On the left is the original SSD,which I removed. The ribbon cable below is a bit messy😂

The hard drive slot on the right is the same.

Remove the original hard drive on the left, and install my previous old hard drive on the right (a Samsung 512G,model forgotten).
Then,reattach the bottom case,and you’re done.
This 512G drive has LinuxMint installed. Next time,I’ll write an article about the Linux user experience in 2025 😃
Applying for After-Sales Service
Initially, I went to JD.com's after-sales service (since I bought this laptop on JD.com).
The customer service said that applying through JD.com or through Jige's mini program would both work.
I remember seeing a B站 (Bilibili) uploader who applied through the mini program and even watched the repair live stream.
So I decided to apply for after-sales service through the mini program. Just search for "机械革命客户服务中心" (MECHREVO Customer Service Center) in WeChat.

After opening the mini program, click "自主保修" (Self-Service Warranty), fill in the relevant information, and that's it. For the repair method, you can choose to drop it off or send it back to the factory. Although there is a Jige service point in my city, it was raining heavily yesterday, so I chose to send it back to the factory.

You need to fill in the boot password here, so it’s best to use a clean hard drive and system when sending it for repair to ensure data security.
After submitting the application, the SF Express (顺丰) courier came to pick it up very quickly.
I just handed him the laptop itself, and he said, “Is this all?” 😂
However, SF Express was very professional; they packaged it securely before sending it out.
Viewing Repair Videos
Though Brother Ji's quality control might be unstable, the after-sales service is pretty quick.
Last night, SF Express picked up the computer from my door, and by this morning, I could already see the repair video.

By clicking the video icon in the progress section, you can watch a video of the after-sales engineer performing the repair.

However, the video is only two minutes long—it just shows the unboxing.
The subsequent repair status is "parts have been requested."
I'm guessing they need to replace the keyboard or some other component, and the repair can only continue once the new part arrives.
Summary
The after-sales service for this minor hitch was actually quite prompt.
What's more, the customer service within the mini-program does have real people! Though you do have to queue.
I'll update the follow-up once it's fixed later.
It seems the company's after-sales service isn't as terrible as online rumors suggest.
However, if you only have one computer and need it for work, encountering such an issue can be pretty frustrating.
