A few useful new gadgets bought in January 2025

Introduction

I was quite busy at the end of last year with a job change, moving, and a bunch of other things all piling up. Many of the items I bought in 2024 still haven't been unboxed.

I can only slowly catch up on them later. For now, let me share some of the things I purchased in January.

Redmi K80 Smartphone

I originally didn't plan to buy a new phone.

However, after signing up for a new mobile plan, the carrier offered a purchase subsidy. It wasn't a large amount, so within the subsidy range, I chose the model that "seemed" to have the best value for money (性价比).

This is also my first time using a Xiaomi-brand phone.

I have to admit, the system ads are really... 😂 Hmm, most of them can be turned off, so it's not a big deal 🕶.

That said, the build quality of this phone is much better than my previous iQOO—metal frame + glass back.

Since I didn't bring a fill light, I didn't take complete unboxing photos with a camera. I just used another phone to snap some quick shots for a general idea.

To test the camera capabilities of this phone, all unboxing photos in the rest of this article were taken with the Redmi K80 (except for the phone holder at the end).

Large Mouse Pad

A mouse pad is an essential item for using a mouse.

I previously bought a small Robin mouse pad.

However, a large mouse pad is still more comfortable to use.

So I ordered a new Kamisato Ayaka mouse pad (simply because it looks nice).

This one won't get its own photo, and the background for all "new items" will be this mouse pad.

Patriot Stereo Live Streaming Earphones

The reason is that I've grown tired of my current Edifier 2.4G earphones (for more about 2.4G earphones, you can check out my previous article).

Moreover, there aren't many good options on the market for 2.4G + TWS earphones, so I decided to go for wired earphones directly.

Since I frequently need to attend online meetings, choosing a model with a microphone also makes things more convenient.

In actual testing, this microphone performs much better than my computer's built-in microphone array (although there's a humming noise, but that might be because my computer isn't grounded properly).

Deli Temperature and Humidity Monitor

It can serve as both a temperature and humidity monitor and also moonlights as a clock.

The user experience is decent. The temperature data is similar to my Xiaomi thermometer, so it's deemed to be fine.

Black Goji Berry Puree

I actually bought this on a certain e-commerce site to meet the minimum order amount, but I haven't tried it yet, so I don't know how it tastes.

Acrylic Phone Organizer (Stand?)

I currently have quite a few devices, and having them all on my desk looks a bit messy.

I happened to come across a video by Bilibili uploader Pang Tong (胖彤) earlier.

The acrylic phone organizer in it looked quite nice (and I was also eyeing that Anker charger in the background).
