My favorite thin and light laptop chassis of 2024: MECHREVO Wujie 14X Blizzard unboxing

Preface

After getting a new mold, Ji Ge's Boundless 14x can be considered my favorite ultrabook mold. With a weight of 1.46kg, the 8845 processor offers the best price-to-energy-efficiency ratio for ultrabooks, an 80Wh large battery, dual M.2/dual memory slots, maximum expandability, and a very rich set of ports—this is directly a high-scoring answer for ultrabooks~ (hmm, why aren't other manufacturers copying this?)

Unboxing

Inside, it's very simple—just the laptop, user manual, and charger.

Since this laptop is an integrated graphics ultrabook (核显轻薄本), the included charger is also quite compact, about the same size as my previous MateBook 14, though this one is 100W.

Laptop Body

Pure white, with a simple yet decent-looking A-side (cover).

The C-side (keyboard area) is also white, which doesn’t show fingerprints as easily as black—that’s pretty good.

Ji Ge’s keyboard protection cloth is quite nice—thicker than others. Other brands are usually very thin, and Lenovo’s is basically just a piece of paper.

The C-side is also very clean—no stickers at all.

Hardware Information

Let's take a look at the hardware specifications.

The solid-state drive is a bit underwhelming—it's the Crucial P3, which is typically sold online with QLC (Quad-Level Cell) particles, but the one equipped by "Jige" (referring to a specific model or brand) appears to be a custom TLC (Triple-Level Cell) version.

Solid-State Drive

Hard drive information, over 100 GB written, 3 hours of power-on time, no issues.

Hard drive speed test – this speed is even stronger than the one in the Tianxuan Air 😂. It does use TLC (Triple-Level Cell) particles, so the worried heart is finally put at ease.

Color Gamut

The color gamut is similar to the Tianxuan Air. Zhu Wang from Bi'ba mentioned the screen has a "greasy" feel, but I didn't notice anything during use. It feels about the same as the Tianxuan Air's screen—neither is particularly impressive 😂

CPU-Z and GPU-Z

Stress Test

Running a single CPU stress test for 10 minutes can stabilize at 65W, the same as the rated value, and the performance release is still quite good.

3DMark TimeSpy

This score is a bit low；it should be around 3000 to be considered normal. The memory might be a bit lacking. Upgrading to a couple of better memory sticks should help improve the score.

Experience Test

Still using Horizon Zero Dawn for testing.

At 1080p resolution, quality priority mode, it can run at an average of 59 FPS.

This integrated graphics can handle AAA games, but don't expect too much from the experience~

However, this machine isn't primarily focused on gaming performance; its main strengths are expandability and cost-effectiveness. I plan to try an all-in-one Thunderbolt GPU dock later; Huawei's one looks quite compact.
